KASHA SHILLINGTON, Chief Executive Officer

Vice-Chairman and a shareholder of Resense since its inception in 2009, Kasha became CEO in 2011 to apply her strategic, development and business skills to leading the development of Resense around the world.   Before joining Resense, Kasha was shareholder, Managing Director and Executive Director of Raison d’Etre Spas and a director on private & public property development/construction, energy & tourism infrastructure boards in Australia.  Tertiary qualified in property economics and applied finance, Kasha led the creation and development of some of Australia’s largest mixed use property developments.  A finalist in the Telstra Australia Businesswomen’s Awards at 26 and the youngest director appointed to Australia’s largest private company at 27, her experience in all market sectors of a number of industries means Kasha is able to understand our clients’ visions, the commercial imperatives of their projects and how Resense’s spas must integrate and uphold their objectives.

EMMA JANE DARBY, Global Operations Director

Having grown up in the health club business, Emma has spent the past 17 years carving out her own successful career in the spa, fitness and cosmetology industry throughout the Middle East, Europe, Central and South America. As Senior Manager of a large, non-invasive laser treatment company, Emma was instrumental in developing the concept, liaising with plastic surgeons and the expansion of the business throughout the United Kingdom. More recently, Emma was a senior Spa Director and trouble-shooter for 6 years with Ritz Carlton Hotels where she successfully managed the award-winning Rosewood Mayakoba spa in Mexico and Ritz-Carlton Manama spa in Bahrain. Emma’s contribution to Resense’s forward direction is significant and her leadership of the pre-opening and operational support of our spas in Europe, together with corporate operational development is a key driver in the performance Resense is achieving.

ALEXANDRA CHARALAMPIDOU, Director of Financial Performance

Alexandra has 10 years of experience in financial consulting, project finance and investment finance. She has advised clients in the hospitality industry on corporate strategy, concept creation, new ventures assessment, performance improvement and project management. She holds a bachelor degree in Interpretation and Languages, a Corporate Finance Qualification from the UK and an MBA in International Hospitality from the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. Alexandra worked for KPMG and private investors in London and Switzerland, before setting up a consulting company in Switzerland, through which she spent the past 3 years as Financial Director for Tangram Hotels base in Beijing. Alexandra joins Resense as Director of Financial Performance to ensure our spas are realising our owners’ commercial objectives in alignment with Resense’s vision.

BENJAMIN ROBERT, Director of Corporate Development

Benjamin’s experience originated in the insurance industry, prior to becoming a management trainee for Hyatt Hotels and working in marketing and projects for the famous Chiva-Som in Thailand. A graduate of Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne’s BSc in International Hospitality Management majoring in Financial and Asset Management, Benjamin also has a Graduate Diploma of Advanced Project Management and won the Innovation Prize for his final year thesis.  Resense was fortunate to identify Benjamin early and he joined us in early 2010 to manage marketing and help establish the Resense business.  Benjamin possesses a clear understanding of both the hotel and destination spa industries and how branding and luxury should be applied.  His education and experience coupled with his strategic thinking has led to his rapid progression through Resense, where he now leads several major corporate and marketing projects.

MATT LAIRD, Global Projects Director

With over 20 years in the wellness industry, Matt brings a wealth of experience in managing destination spas and luxury health & fitness clubs to his role as Project Manager for Resense.  Matt was the Resident Manager at the Six Senses Destination Spa in Thailand responsible for all medical, spa and wellness departments and managed the design and development of several leading spa hotels in the UK.  Amongst others, he managed the spas at Gleneagles Resort & The Turnberry Hotel for Espa after managing the Holmes Place Health Club in Edinburgh and being Deputy General Manager of the Harbour Club in London for several years.  Matt’s operational and development experience in destination spas and membership clubs is highly valuable in designing the spa and wellness offerings of Resense spas internationally.

BLANCA LORENTE, Operations Manager

Blanca has a distinguished career having successfully opened and managed many significant, international spas including most recently, Sha Wellness Clinic in Spain. Blanca has also held group roles with Bern Hotels & Resorts, Grupo Pullmantur and Crystal Cruises.  Blanca is currently focused on our new upcoming opening of Kempinski The Spa in Al Khobar.

EMLYN BROWN, Managing Director – Asia

With over 15 years’ experience managing luxury spa and health clubs in Europe, Middle East and Asia, Emlyn is the perfect leader for Resense’s rapidly growing business in Asia. His spa expertise draws from supporting leading & boutique hoteliers including The-Ritz Carlton, Jumeirah, Viceroy, Steigenberger Hotels, MGM Hospitality and Six Senses. After commencing his career in professional sport, Emlyn spent seven years with Holmes Place Lifestyle Clubs where he progressed to directing Switzerland and managing the company’s growth into Central Europe. His spa career began leading leisure and retail operations at the award winning Burj al Arab followed by corporate roles in Europe and Asia with Six Senses Spas. Emlyn now lead’s Resense’s subsidiary company in Beijing overseeing the development, design, pre-opening and on-going management of our spas throughout Asia.

ALICE ZHANG, Operations Coordinator

After completing her Bachelor in Hospitality Management in Beijing, Alice commenced her career in the Kempinski Head Office in China, where she rapidly progressed and proved her ability as a skilled and effective coordinator of hotel operations. She joined Resense in mid-2014 to support the Resense Director of Asia and Resense Corporate office in establishing Resense’s business in China & Asia. Alice supports our day to day business of pre-opening and supporting the ongoing management of multiple spas in Asia; as well as the development of new spa agreements. Alice’s assistance in establishing our company in Beijing has been significant and her energy, reliability and organization make her an enduring and valuable member of the Resense team.

SARAH WATTERSON

Sarah is originally from the Isle of Man and has lived and worked in Europe Japan, South East Asia and the Middle East. She has over 25 years of broad experience in Spa, hospitality, beauty and wellness, in pre-openings, group operations and holistic training. Sarah has worked in luxury hotel groups such as The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Rosewood, Shu Uemura KK ,Chiva Som, Sha Wellness and Hilton WorldWide. Sarah is also a Shiatsu and Chi Nei Tsang teacher and speaks Japanese.

Rosamond began her career within the spa industry in 1992. Having trained in all aspects of spa Rosamond became a partner of an alternative back clinic in the city of London, where she practiced as a therapist. The successful business model grew into the founding of Raison d’Etre. After 14 years of developing Raison d’Etre in one of the world’s leading luxury spa consultancy procuring and managing Clients such as Aman Resorts, Rocco Forte and One & Only Hotels, Rosamond felt it was the right time to capitalize on her investment. Today Rosamond consults for resorts and hotels worldwide, but also acts as a Specialist Consultant for Resense.
